Human Trafficking is an everyday problem that has caused many broken hearts, sadness, and depression among families and friends. Human Trafficking can be defined as the illegal transnational and international trade in people for the purpose of servitude(4). Japan is known as a transit and destination country for human trafficking(7). This issue can also be considered a modern form of slavery. Victims can also be used for the purpose of cheap labor.
Thesis
By looking at the Yakuzas and police involvement, it is clear that the government can not handle their own country properly, so they need the aid of the UN (United Nations) to help prevent the trafficking problem(10).
Growth in Human Trafficking
It is estimated that somewhere that between 600,000 - 820,000 men women, and children are trafficked across international borders. Seventy percent of them are women and girls and about fifty percent are minors(4). These people are mainly trafficked for sexual exploitation, bonded, sweatshop labor, forced marriage, domestic violence, and military also persist(4). The rates which people are trafficked keeps increasing.
